The Evolution of a Custom Space Marine
After Elliot Lee showed off his last “mini me” Space Marine action figure, he took in the feedback and decided to refine the design even further. With the help of his talented friend Peter Johnson, a second sculpt was printed, bringing new life to his self-insert Ultramarine. This time, more detail was added to better reflect the warrior spirit of the character. The new model features a more dynamic pose, enhancing the action-packed nature of Warhammer 40,000’s brutal battles. The improvements made this version feel more personal and authentic to Elliot’s vision.
Adding the Final Touches
One of the biggest changes was the addition of a yelling face, giving the figure a sense of motion and raw intensity. To further capture the battle-hardened look of a veteran Space Marine, scars were carefully carved onto the face, adding character and history to the figure. Service studs, small metallic decorations representing years of battlefield experience, were meticulously crafted using glued clay. These small but meaningful details elevated the model beyond a standard figure, making it truly unique. With these changes, the sculpt was no longer just a representation—it became a story in miniature form.
Painting Lieutenant Elias Trajan
With the sculpt complete, it was time to bring the figure to life with a proper paint job. Elliot Lee took on the task himself, ensuring that every brushstroke captured the grandeur of the Ultramarines’ 2nd Company. The blue armor, adorned with gold trim and insignias, stands in stark contrast to the red-armored Chaos warrior he faces. His power sword and bolt pistol are painted with precision, emphasizing their deadly nature. The paintwork ties everything together, reinforcing the idea that Lieutenant Elias Trajan is a battle-hardened warrior of the Imperium.
A Self-Insert Worthy of the Emperor
With the final touches in place, Lieutenant Elias Trajan is now fully ready to take to the battlefield in the name of the Emperor. This custom model is more than just a figure—it’s a passion project that blends creativity, craftsmanship, and love for Warhammer 40,000. The combination of sculpting, detailing, and painting resulted in a miniature that feels both personal and lore-accurate. Whether leading the charge or standing defiant against the forces of Chaos, Elias Trajan embodies the unbreakable will of the Imperium. In the grim darkness of the far future, there may only be war, but this custom Ultramarine ensures that it will be fought with both skill and style.
