Plaguebearers and Nurglings: The Daemons of Nurgle in Warhammer 40,000
The Plaguebearers: Foot Soldiers of Nurgle
Plaguebearers are the loyal, decaying foot soldiers of Nurgle, the Chaos God of decay and disease. Each one is a soul claimed by Nurgle’s plagues, forever rotting and infected. They march relentlessly, brandishing rusted weapons known as Plagueswords, their mere presence spreading pestilence. These weapons are infused with deadly contagions, causing horrific diseases even from the smallest wound, making Plaguebearers a terrifying force on the battlefield.
Nurglings: Mischief and Disease
Nurglings are small, mischievous daemons of Nurgle, embodying infectious joy and decay. Despite their grotesque appearance—bloated, leering, and oozing filth—these creatures delight in the spread of disease. They swarm around larger daemons, particularly the Great Unclean One, acting as defenders and infectious harbingers of rot. Nurglings gleefully hurl themselves into combat, infecting enemies with deadly plagues while laughing and reveling in the chaos they create.
