Betrayal and Decay
Mortarion’s bitterness led him to betray the Emperor and embrace Nurgle, the Plague God. In exchange for power, he and the Death Guard became rotting husks of their former selves. Once proud warriors, they now spread death and despair across the galaxy.
A Reaper of Souls
As a daemon prince of Nurgle, Mortarion is a bringer of decay, wielding his scythe, Silence, to harvest souls. Though he claims to despise tyranny, he is bound to Nurgle’s will, his legacy one of ruin and despair, a grim shadow haunting the Imperium.
