Chaos Space Marines are former warriors of the Imperium who have fallen under the corrupting influence of the Chaos Gods. These once-proud Space Marines betrayed their oaths to the Emperor during the Horus Heresy and have since become twisted, hate-filled versions of their former selves. Warped by the dark powers of Chaos, they wield daemonic weapons and arcane sorcery, their bodies often mutated by their allegiance to the Ruinous Powers. Each Chaos Space Marine warband serves its own agenda, be it for the favor of a particular Chaos God—Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch, or Slaanesh—or simply for their own selfish lust for power. They are the scourge of the galaxy, raiding, pillaging, and spreading Chaos wherever they march.
