Anrakyr the Traveller is a legendary figure among the Necrons in Warhammer 40,000, known for his unique mission and uncharacteristic independence from the rigid protocols that typically govern his kind. Once a Necron Overlord of the sundered world of Pyrrhia, Anrakyr awakened to find the Necron dynasties fractured and scattered after millennia of stasis. Rather than simply restore his own domain, as many Necron lords sought to do, Anrakyr was driven by a far more ambitious goal: to unite the Necron race and reclaim their former empire that once dominated the stars. To achieve this, he embarked on a journey across the galaxy, becoming the legendary “Traveller.”
Anrakyr’s journey takes him far beyond the traditional borders of Necron tomb worlds. Unlike most Necron leaders, who are fiercely territorial, he is constantly on the move, seeking out dormant tomb worlds to awaken their slumbering legions. His ultimate objective is to rally the scattered Necron forces and unite them under a single banner to regain the glory of the Necron Empire. However, his methods are often seen as controversial by other Necron Overlords. Anrakyr does not hesitate to seize control of others’ legions if they refuse to join his cause willingly, using his mastery of Command Protocols to override their leaders’ authority and commandeer their forces in his quest.
In battle, Anrakyr the Traveller is a formidable warrior. He wields the Tachyon Arrow, a weapon capable of unleashing devastatingly accurate, high-energy blasts, and the Warscythe, a potent close-combat weapon that can cleave through nearly any material.
