Horus Lupercal is a central figure in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, particularly known for his role in the Horus Heresy. He was the primarch of the Luna Wolves, later renamed the Sons of Horus, and was the first primarch discovered by the Emperor of Mankind. Due to his early discovery and the bond he formed with the Emperor, Horus became the Emperor’s favored son.
Horus’s tactical brilliance and leadership skills led to his appointment as Warmaster, giving him command over the Emperor’s forces during the Great Crusade. This position of power made him highly influential among the other primarchs and the Imperial military.
However, Horus’s rise to power also sowed the seeds of his downfall. He was eventually corrupted by the Chaos Gods, who exploited his ambition and insecurities. This corruption led him to rebel against the Emperor, marking the beginning of the Horus Heresy, a galaxy-wide civil war that nearly destroyed the Imperium.
Horus’s betrayal and subsequent war changed the course of the Imperium forever. His actions left a lasting legacy of conflict and chaos in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, with the repercussions of his heresy felt for millennia afterward.
