Horus Lupercal is a central figure in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, known as the Warmaster and the most favored of the twenty Primarchs created by the Emperor of Mankind. Initially the Emperor’s most trusted son, Horus was charismatic, brilliant in battle, and a natural leader, commanding the Luna Wolves (later renamed the Sons of Horus) with unparalleled skill. However, his tragic fall from grace is the catalyst for the galaxy-spanning conflict known as the Horus Heresy. Corrupted by the Chaos Gods, Horus turned against the Emperor, leading half of the Space Marine Legions in a rebellion that shattered the Imperium. His ultimate defeat at the Siege of Terra, where he was slain by the Emperor himself, marked the end of the Heresy but left the Imperium in ruins and set the stage for the grimdark future of the 41st millennium.
