The Homework Copycat: Hulkbuster vs. Terminator Armor Showdown
The Homework Copying Saga
This meme is the perfect example of that classic moment when a friend asks to copy your homework, and instead of making real changes, they just tweak a few things and pray the teacher doesn’t notice. On the left, we have Marvel’s Hulkbuster Igor suit, a chunk of pure, industrial-strength armor designed to punch the Hulk into next week. On the right, we have Warhammer 40K’s Terminator armor, a walking fortress designed to make enemies regret existing. Both are blue, both are ridiculously massive, and both look like they were built to survive an extinction-level event. The resemblance is undeniable, but hey, Games Workshop definitely came up with this all by themselves. No copying here, move along.
Hmmm…. They Do Look Similar
Let’s be honest—if you saw both of these standing side by side, your first reaction would probably be some variation of wait a minute. One is a high-tech billionaire’s personal mech suit, built to restrain an unstoppable rage monster, while the other is sacred armor worn by genetically enhanced warriors who believe diplomacy means applying more dakka. And yet, despite their different origins, they somehow ended up looking like long-lost cousins at a family reunion. The bulky proportions, the massive gauntlets, the looming helmet—there’s only so much you can do before people start connecting the dots. Someone at Games Workshop either had a Marvel movie marathon before designing Terminator armor or the Emperor himself just really likes Iron Man.
A Tale of Two Super Soldiers
Whether you are a die-hard Marvel fan or a Warhammer enthusiast, you have to admit both of these designs are peak battle suit perfection. Maybe Tony Stark and the Adeptus Astartes just have the same philosophy when it comes to armor—go big, go heavy, and make sure people know you mean business. But in the grim darkness of intellectual property disputes, one question remains: who wore it better? No matter the answer, one thing is for sure—somewhere, a Games Workshop designer is hoping nobody brings this up in a lawsuit while Marvel’s legal team is sharpening their power swords.
