Briseis Ligeia was a noble-born psyker taken from the planet Gathalamor by the Ordo Hereticus due to her extraordinary psychic abilities. Her unique talent allowed her to absorb information at an astonishing rate, making her an unparalleled researcher and codebreaker. With an exceptional memory and a highly analytical mind, she specialized in deciphering cryptic texts and lost knowledge. Her abilities caught the attention of the Ordo Malleus, the daemon-hunting branch of the Inquisition, which recruited her into its ranks. Over the years, she refined her skills and eventually rose to the esteemed rank of Inquisitor, dedicating her life to unraveling the mysteries of the Warp and its infernal denizens.

The Hunt for Ghargatuloth
While investigating the remnants of rogue Inquisitor Gholic Ren-Sar Valinov, Ligeia discovered the Codicium Aeternum, a tome long thought lost. Its forbidden knowledge hinted at the impending return of the Daemon Prince Ghargatuloth, prompting her to seek the aid of the Grey Knights. Despite their forces being stretched thin by the 13th Black Crusade, a small strike force led by Justicar Alaric accompanied her to the Trail of Saint Evisser. On Sophano Secundus, they uncovered a cult led by an ancient sorcerer posing as an Imperial priest. Ligeia and her Death Cult Assassins battled their way through the city, suffering heavy losses but escaping with critical documents detailing Ghargatuloth’s past and weaknesses.

A Desperate Gamble
As Ligeia delved into the daemon’s history, she realized that Ghargatuloth could only be truly banished if fully summoned into realspace. To ensure this, she orchestrated the escape of Valinov, believing that his ritual was necessary to draw the daemon into the open.
